Why I Love My Job

Why Do I Love My Job I am a translator for a suburban school in Indianapolis. My job is to help in the communications between administration, teachers and Spanish speaking parents and students.
An incident happened the other day where an administrator called me to inform a Latino family that their child might be asked to leave school and go into home schooling or take classes toward a G.E.D. because her grades were poor and had not improved over the last nine weeks. The child came to me and said she had been staying after school and seeking extra help, as well as doing her homework.
I took it upon myself to ask the teachers to contact the administrator and ask her to reconsider based on her recent improvement. The teachers did it.
The parents came into the meeting expecting the worst. When they got the news that their daughter was going to get another chance, they were overjoyed. To see their faces after hearing the news was priceless.
It takes a village to educate and help a child grow, one child at a time. This is but one reason that I love my job. Sincerely, Mrs. Translator |
