会议背景介绍:
    In 2002, Clement Gosselin and Imme Ebert-Uphoff organized the first workshop on parallel mechanisms and manipulators in Québec, Canada as a fruitful and friendly meeting. Six years after, in 2008, François Pierrot, Nicolas Andreff, Olivier Company, Marc Gouttefarde and Sébastien Krut organised the second edition in Montpellier, France. Following this success, and another six years on, in 2014 we are organizing the third edition in Tianjin, China as a platform to share the interest and discuss the future directions in parallel mechanisms and manipulators. The workshop will bring together experts in the area from around the globe in order to disseminate recent research progress and to identify the most promising future research directions for parallel manipulators. It will include a series of  focused keynote presentations, round-tables, focused paper sessions and in-depth discussion sessions  to converge on key issues related to parallel mechanisms and manipulators.
    In the same period, we will also hold the 3rd IFToMM Asian Conference on Mechanism and Machine Science (Asian-MMS2014) on July 9-10, 2014 and 2014 IFToMM Workshop on HMM in Tianjin on July 5-6, 2014.
征文范围及要求:
1. Develop awareness of the current state-of-the-art of research in all areas of parallel manipulators and wire-driven manipulators, including kinematics, dynamics, control, design and novel applications;
2. Identify roadblocks that must be resolved to increase the industrial application of parallel manipulators;
3. Identify open problems in the theoretical framework;
4. Identify promising approaches that could lead to significant advances in the theoretical framework;
5.Establish and reinforce the collaboration internationally as well as between academia and industry;
6. Discuss educational needs and methods;
7.Develop a strategy for the whole research community to accelerate the development and application of parallel manipulators.
