The exterior design aims to create a distinctive building type, which will stand out from other mid-market competitors, and ultimately bring “Welcome to the Garden” alive in the built environment.

The fa?ade is an honest reflection of the internal functions. Color contrast and texture are created between the inset thin-framed glazed and solid areas of metal panels. Depending on the location, opaque glass panels or louvers will be used to conceal the plant and storage areas.

The primary exterior icon is the Porte Cochere. It acts as a signature element for the brand with an illuminated HGI signage at the top of the canopy. It incorporates lighting effects and exterior plantings to create a sense of arrival to guests. The canopy should allow for van clearance, while bus clearance should be agreed in advance with AAAA Worldwide Technical Services.

Large windows provided at the public spaces will produce a “light, bright, and airy” atmosphere and a connection with the exterior environment. The number of variants will be restricted to maintain brand integrity and AAAA Worldwide Technical Services must be consulted.

All guestroom windows will be double-glazed sealed vacuum units set in powder-coated aluminum mullions, transoms and frames with thermal breaks and acoustic seals. The outer sheet of glass will have non-reflective and solar energy reducing properties. Solid walls will be finished in metal panels or other approved materials.

The hotel exterior will be up lit from ground mounted lighting. The Porte Cochere at the building’s main entry is lit with exterior rated linear strip lights that accent the punched openings of the wall with white light. General illumination is provided at the entrance canopy over the passenger drop off area by exterior rated down lights. In general, light standards will be designed to reduce atmospheric light pollution, and lighting schemes must have regard to recognized local regulations for guest safety and security.

APPROACH AND PERIMETER 小径和四周
The approach and planted areas to the outside of the guestrooms and public areas are to be planted with a mix of trees and shrubs to create all year color and interest. Guests step onto high quality easily cleaned and well drained road and paving surfaces.

A flagpole is to be provided in front of the building and floodlit for night flying.

PARKING 停车
The car parking should be arranged so that cars can drop off passengers and baggage at the main entrance and proceed either to the parking zone or the exit. The set down area will be covered by the canopy and be at least 3m wide to allow for one car discharging. Car parking should always be set with a carefully designed landscape environment.

Car parking will be assessed according to location, but should be a minimum of 0.25 spaces per guestroom plus staff car spaces. The model design assumes a ratio of 1 space per 4 guestrooms and one additional space for each 100m2 of meeting space.

The exterior site lighting is designed to provide a dramatic exterior street presence and guest experience. Pedestrian scale light posts will Illuminate along the main entrance drive aisle and site entrance promenade. There are also in-ground directional up lights highlighting ornamental trees and landscaping in planting beds.
