邯郸市位于河北省最南部，总面积12047平方公里，总人口864余万，是中国历史文化名城、著名的旅游胜地，千古一帝秦始皇就诞生在这里。邯郸历史悠久，迄今已有3000多年的历史；文化底蕴深厚，是全国著名的成语之乡，“胡服骑射”、“邯郸学步”、“黄粱美梦”等历史典故，就发生在这里；邯郸是战国七雄之一——赵国的国都，历史遗存、文物古迹众多，全市共有各类历史文物1500多处，其中省级以上的文物保护单位达97处。随着历史的演进，不同时期都有影响深远、颇具代表性的文化：以赵王城、武灵丛台为象征的古赵文化，新石器时代、距今有7000多年历史的磁山文化，以南北响堂为代表的魏晋文化、南北朝文化及唐宋文化。邯郸还是著名的红色旅游胜地，拥有一二九师司令部旧址、晋冀鲁豫烈士陵园等革命历史纪念地。
Located at the southernmost of Hebei province, with the total area of 12047 square kilometers and the general population of over 8.64 million, Handan City is a famous historic & cultural city of China and well-known tourist resort, where the Emperor of Eternity ---Emperor Chin Shihhuang was born. Handan has a long history of over 3000 years; it has profound cultural basis as a nationally famous town of idiom, where the historical references such as “Wearing Hu dresses and Shooting on horse”, “Learn to Walk in Handan” and “A Golden Millet Dream” etc happened here; Handan is the capital of State Zhao--- one of the seven powerful states of Warring States Period, with a number of cultural relics and historical sites, and there are over 1500 historical relics and sites of a variety of types in the city, with 97 provincial–level above Cultural Relics Protection Units.
