“The Economic Zone on the West Coast of the Taiwan Straits” is the fourth largest development region, aside from Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta and Bohai regions. It covers the region of Fujian province, south of Zhejiang province, east of Guangdong province, and east-central of Jiangxi province.
Fujian province, as the core region of “the economic zone of the west coast of the Taiwan Straits”, will be the first to benefit.

1. By the end of 2008, as many as 42,764 foreign enterprises have been officially authorized to set up shops in Fujian, with paid-in foreign capital of 84 billion U.S. dollars, which is about one tenth of the total foreign investment in China.
2. Fujian has established relations of economic exchanges with up to 218 countries and regions, with the total volume of Fujian’s exports and imports in 2008 reaching 84.892 billion U.S.dollars.
