福建省是中国建筑陶瓷生产大省。2006年生产量近8亿平方米，占中国全国15％左右，产值近130亿元，总量仅次于中国的广东省、山东省，位居中国各省第三。产品出口1亿多美元，位居中国全国第2位。福建省陶瓷企业主要分布在福建省晋江市、闽清县、南安市，3个县市产量占全省的70％以上。目前福建省建陶企业有500多家，先进的辊道窑生产线535多条、琉璃瓦生产线180多条、高吨位喷雾干燥塔300多座、自动化施釉线300多条、高吨位全自动压砖机近1000台。从业人员近20万人。技术装备水平较高，最大的压机7200吨，是目前中国国内最大的压机，辊道窑部分引进国外产品，压砖机基本上是引进意大利、西班牙等国家的先进机械装备，技术装备达90年代国际先进水平。生产的主要产品以外墙砖为主，占中国国内市场65％以上；琉璃瓦占中国国内市场80％以上。
Fujian is a big province for China’s architectural ceramic production. In 2006,its productive capacity was close to 800 million square meters, having about 15 percent in whole China, its output value was close to 13 billion yuan, and its overall output was only next to that in Guangdong and that in Shandong, ranking as the third place among all the provinces in China. Its product exports are worth more than US$ 100 million, ranking as the second place in China. Its ceramic enterprises are mainly distributed in Jinjiang City, Minqing County and Nan’an City, and the output from the three regions makes up more than 70 percent in the whole province of Fujian. At present, Fujian has more than 500 architectural ceramic enterprises, more than 535 advanced roller hearth kiln production lines, more than 180 glazed roof tile production lines, more than 300 high-tonnage spray drying towers, more than 300 automatic glazing production lines and nearly 1,000 high-tonnage full-automatic tile-pressing machines, with nearly 200,000 workers. The technical equipping level is high. Fujian’s biggest press is 7200 ton-level, the biggest press in China currently. Parts of the roller hearth kilns have been imported from abroad, and the tile-pressing machines are basically advanced mechanical equipment imported from such countries as Italy, Spain, etc. The technical equipment has reached the international advanced level in the 1990s.The main products are dominated by exposed wall tiles, having more than 65 percent in the Chinese home market, and the glazed roof tiles make up over 80 percent in the Chinese home market.
