16 BC-105 Highly Effective Optical Blue Color Pattern Brightener for Cotton Fiber
1. Brief introduction
BC-105 is a new kind of highly effective and direct dyeing optical blue color pattern brightener for cotton fiber. It has the characteristic of deeply dyeing. It has high affinity with cellulose fiber. It is stable in the process of chloride bleaching. In the range of 20-100℃, the whiten effect is obvious. It can be used in the whitening process of for cotton fiber, nylon and detergent. The brightening effect for protein fiber and amide plastic is also satisfying. It is fit for calendaring and dip-dyeing process, especially when the dip-dyeing used bleaching agent is dioxide, its whitening effect is better.

  1. Appearance: white powder when it is solid.
  2. Solubility: middle-grade when it is solid.

  4. Fastness: 4-5 grade (cotton fiber)

3. Procedure (reference process)
  (1) Cotton fiber
BC-105 powder is fit for whitening when used capstan, jet, or packaging dyeing machine. The most common method is to blend BC-105 with hydrogen peroxide and alkali in one container.
Reference recipes:
1. Capstan (or jet) whitening:
Hydrogen peroxide:  (35%) 5ml/L
Sodium hydroxide:  0.5g/L
Hydrogen peroxide stabilizer:  1.2g/L
Wetting agent: proper amount
  BC-105: powder   0.15-0.3%  (dyeing fabric relative weight)
2. Rolling dyeing whitening:
  Hydrogen peroxide:    (35%)    3-5%     (dyeing fabric relative weight)
  Sodium hydroxide:              1-1.5%    (dyeing fabric relative weight)
  Hydrogen peroxide stabilizer:     1-1.5%     (dyeing fabric relative weight)
  Wetting agent:      proper amount
  BC-105:             powder  0.15-0.3%  (dyeing fabric relative weight)

3. Packaging dyeing whitening:

The bath solution disposed by BC-105 first, then by rongalite (2 phr rongalit+1 phr sodium pyrophosphate, the fabric should be disposed at 60℃ for 20-30 minutes) can make the fabric whiter.
  (2) polyester/cotton blending fabric whitening:
  For the whitening of cotton fiber of blending fabric, the above method for 100% cotton fiber can be referenced. However, if the whitening of polyester in the blending fabric is required, terylene fluorescent brightener BC-100 can be added in the bath trough. The reference recipe is:
  BC-105  solid  0.15-0.3%    (cotton fabric weight)
  BC-100  liquid  0.2-0.7%     (terylene fabric weight)
  High temperature and pressure dyeing method is commonly adopted when whitening. The temperature should be 120-130℃, the time 30-60 minutes, bath ratio 1:10-20, and PH value 8-9.
  (3) The influence on whitening effect of positive ionic softening agent:
  For keeping the white degree after brightening of BC-105, if the positive ionic softening agent is used, the controlling of PH value in the process is comparatively important. When PH value is more than 6 for a long time, the phenomenon of yellowing will not emerge.
  (4) Package and transport
  25Kg/paper carton (containing plastic bag inner), 50Kg/paper board bucket (containing plastic bag inner), transported by railway or road to the place appointed by the customer.
  (5) Storage time: solid storage time≥12 months
  (6) Notes:
  1. the water solubility of Brightener BC-105 is middle grade, therefore, when dissolving the materials, the hot water of 60-80℃ is prefer, and the solubility is excellent.
  2. The optimal dosage of BC-105 is 0.15%-0.25% (relative dyeing fabric weight). If the mount is too much, the whitening effect is not good, even yellowing appears.
  3. The chloride bleaching resistance of BC-105 brightener is better than VBL, chloride bleaching intensity is up to 4 degree.
  4. The favorite process for BC-105 brightener is the dyeing process in the alkali and oxide bleaching, the effect is perfect.
