The goal of this conference is to provide an up-to-date coverage of software and algorithms for designing, optimizing and upgrading the optics of x-ray instruments. It aims to bring together engineers and scientists developing x-ray optical software and users of these codes for the design and optimization of x-ray optics from different fields: synchrotron radiation, astrophysics and plasma physics.

Papers are solicited on the following and related topics: simulation methods (ray tracing, wavefront propagation, phase space tracking, etc... partially coherent x-ray beam propagation: theory and simulations simulation of modern x-ray sources (low-emittance synchrotrons, XFEL, x-ray tubes, plasmas) reflective optics (mirrors, capillaries, poly-capillaries, micropore and lobster-eye optics) refractive optics (single and compound lenses) diffractive optics (gratings, multilayers, crystals, zone plates) micro- and nano-focusing optics numerical methods in dynamical diffraction theory (perfect, curved and deformed crystals, mosaic crystals, time-dependent diffraction) modeling surface imperfections (figure and slope errors, roughness) and thermal deformation methods in metrology (e.g., calculation and match of PSD from different apparatus) and usage of metrology data in optics calculations transformation of beam characteristics (polarization, time-dependence, coherence) by optical elements simulations and optimization of complete instruments simulation of experiments with x-rays and experimental data processing frameworks for start-to-end x-ray optical simulations databases: optical constants, metrology data methods to deal with intensive calculations, parallel computing using CPU and GPU.
