会议背景介绍: An International Workshop on Tethyan Orogenesis and Metallogeny in Asia and Cooperation among Institutions of Higher Education (IWTOMA) will be held on October 12 -16, 2014 at China University of Geosciences (CUG), Wuhan, China. The workshop is aimed at discussing and exchanging the latest ideas on the tectonic evolution and metallogeny of the Tethyan domain in Asia, and exploring methods for greater cooperation in higher education and scientific research in the earth sciences, geological engineering and mineral resource exploration between CUG and other international universities in Asia.
The workshop includes a pre-conference excursion, a two-day conference focus on academic exchanges, and a three-day post-conference field excursion to the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. IWTOMA warmly welcomes all participants, not only those scientists researching Tethyan orogenesis and metallogeny in Asia, but also University Presidents, Deans and Department heads within the region. 征文范围及要求: Topics
The Workshop will focus on the following themes:
Earth Science Themes:
1. Magmatism and metallogeny in Paleo-Tethyan tectonic domain
2. The role of ophiolites in Tethyan orogenesis and metallogeny
3.Tethyan evolution, orogenesis and Asian accretion
4. Mineral resources in the Asian Tethyan tectonic domain
5. Tethyan tectonic domain and petroleum exploration
Cooperation in Higher Education Themes:
For maintaining the sustainable development of the intercollegiate exchange and cooperation, each year CUG would like to offer 30-35 full scholarships for graduate students, especially for PhD students from partner institutions in Asian Tethyan countries, and to establish the long-term mechanism of student and researcher exchange and scientific cooperation among partner institutions. Therefore, any suggestion for facilitating the educational and scientific cooperation is warmly welcome and highly appreciated.
Submission of Abstracts
IWTOMA now calls for papers on late-breaking research results and models for improving cooperation among earth science institutions. Extended abstracts should be submitted in English via our web interface which will be launched shortly. All papers should include a list of contributors and their affiliations, title, keywords and a text of no more than 4000 words (3-4A4 pages). Figures (in jpg format), short tables (in Word format) and key references are allowed. We plan to publish selected, original, high-quality, peer-reviewed papers in a post-workshop proceedings volume. |
