The next U. S. National Congress on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics will be held June 15-20, 2014 at Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan.We extend a warm welcome to all mechanics researchers and students to join us on the beautiful Big Ten campus of Michigan State University, a premier research institution. The sessions will be held at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center on Michigan State University’s campus.
The Congress agenda will include a challenging technical program of plenary speakers, many simultaneous technical sessions, a free afternoon to explore the Great Lakes State, a welcome reception, lunches, and a banquet.
Technical sessions will cover many topics, including fluid mechanics, solid mechanics, dynamics, vibrations, controls, applied physics, applied mathematics, geotechnical engineering, biomechanics, and more.
We are hopeful that our faculty colleagues will encourage their graduate students to attend the Congress. We are offering reasonably priced on-campus lodging and expect to draw students from the many universities within driving distance and beyond. These students will have an opportunity to be among their peers and to make contact with leading experts in mechanics. As a point of interest, there are 12 PhD granting universities within 250 miles of East Lansing with an additional 16 universities within 500 miles.
East Lansing is a family-friendly environment with activities on campus including a 4 star-rated golf course, children’s garden, intramural pool, bug house, planetarium, canoeing, museums and more. Lodging is available within walking distance to campus and downtown East Lansing. |
