会议背景介绍： On 25-28 June, 2013, in Moscow, the celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the World Petroleum Council and the 55th anniversary of the Russian National Committee took part. There was one more significant date: start of the One Year Countdown to the opening of the 21st World Petroleum Congress, which will be held in Moscow next year.
Celebration of these three important dates was held as a part of «Mioge-2013» exhibition and the 11th Russian Petroleum and Gas Congress.
Russian National Committee of World Petroleum Council prepared an extensive program of celebration, which took place on the stand of RNC WPC in the central pavilion of the exhibition, as well as the reception dinner in honor of these three important dates in the «Volynskoe» Congress Park. Delegation of the World Petroleum Council, which included the President of the World Petroleum Council, Dr R. Bertani, Director General Dr. Pierce Riemer, and members of several national committees, came to Moscow to participate in these events.
On June 25, at the first plenary session, which opened the 11th Russian Petroleum and Gas Congress and was dedicated to the World Petroleum Council, Dr. Bertani and Director of the RNC WPC V. Kornev made presentations. The main topic of the session was «Responsibly energising a growing world», which is also the topic of the 21st World Petroleum Congress. Plenary session was followed by the press conference of World Petroleum Council, at which head of WPC answered reporters' questions.
On June 26, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 21st World Petroleum Congress A. Dvorkovich met the WPC delegation. During the meeting they discussed the process of preparation for the Congress. President of the World Petroleum Council Renato Bertani was satisfied with the progress of the ongoing work, and wished to see all of Russian oil and gas major companies, especially large ones, such as "Rosneft" and "Gazprom", among the participants of the Congress and World Petroleum Exhibition. On the same day, a meeting of the Youth Section of the World Petroleum Council took place, as well as the "Oil game", which was attended by students, graduates and young professionals. In the evening at the "Volynskoe" Congress Park a reception dinner in honor of the anniversary of the World Petroleum Council was held.
On June 27, the Executive Direction of the Organizing Committee of the 21st World Petroleum Congress held a briefing for the head of the World Petroleum Council and the representatives of the national committees, in which the comprehensive information on the progress of preparations was given.
