会议背景介绍： Cryptology is an area of study and research which has numerous applications especially in the area of information and communication technology. The 4th International Cryptology and Information Security Conference 2014 (Cryptology2014) is one of the many steps towards enhancing and realizing research and applications of cryptology in Malaysia through research collaboration and discussion with research counterparts from the international arena. This is an open forum, provided for contributions which cover research on the theoretical foundations, applications and any related issues in cryptology, information security and other underlying technologies.
This will be the fourth International Cryptology Conference organized by the Malaysian Society for Cryptology Research (MSCR). The Cryptology conference series was initiated following the success of the 1st and 2nd National Cryptology Conference in 2004 and 2006 (NCC04 and NCC06) and the establishment of the Malaysian Society for Cryptology Research (MSCR) in 2007. In both occasions it was spearheaded by the Institute for Mathematical Research (INSPEM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
The 1st International Cryptology Workshop and Conference was held in 2008 (Cryptology2008) and organized INSEPM-UPM. Cryptology2008 involved 3 other parties namely the School of Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), CyberSecurity Malaysia and MSCR. It was held at the Putra World Trade Center (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur.
In 2010 the 2nd International Cryptology Conference (Cryptology2010) was jointly organized by Univeristi Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), Center for Advance Software Engineering (CASE),Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), INSPEM-UPM, CyberSecurity Malaysia and MSCR. It was held at the UNESCO World Heritage City -Malacca.
In 2012, the 3rd International Cryptology and Information Security Conference (Cryptology2012) was jointly organized by the School of Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), INSPEM,-UPM, CyberSecurity Malaysia and MSCR It was held at Langkawi Island which is a UNESCO endorsed geopark.
In 2014, Cryptology2014 is jointly organized by INSPEM-UPM, School of Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Multimedia University (MMU), CyberSecurity Malaysia and MSCR. It will be held at Malaysia's new administration city - Putrajaya. Internationally renowned cryptographic figures will be invited to give keynote speeches for the benefit of all participants.
This conference seeks submissions from the academia and industry presenting research on theoretical and practical aspects of cryptology. We also encourage submissions from other communities such as public agencies, defense and business sectors that represent these communities perspectives on issues related to security.
