会议背景介绍:
Welcome to the 6th International Symposium on Larger Asian Rivers, which will be held on 9th-13th May, 2014, in Yangling, Shaanxi, China. The theme of this symposium will be focused on Sustainability of Water Environment and Ecology - Biodiversity and Ecological Security at river basin scale.
We hope our regular academic symposium will provide a professional and excellent platform for exchanging new ideas and sharing new findings on larger Asian rivers research among scientists and research community, especially the work of our young research scientists. We welcome participants with a wide range of backgrounds and focuses who can enlighten and inspire others, through whom scholars in a range of disciplines can be affected. Alongside this symposium, special issues in international peer-refereed journals Quaternary International (IF>1.96 in 2012) will be published. We can also recommend quality papers to Sustainability of Water Quality and Ecology (Elsevier new journal). We are looking forwards to meeting you in May, 2014, inYangling, Shaanxi.
征文范围及要求:
It is challenging for us to conserve and protect biodiversity in climate change. The loss of biological diversity destabilizes ecosystems and makes them more vulnerable to shocks and disturbances by climate extremes, which may further reduce their ability to provide for human well-being. Themes of this symposium include, but not limited to biodiversity, water environment, and maintenance of river health
Topic 1: Water Resources and Quality & Maintenance of River Health
1a: Hydrology and Water Resources, Quality and Environment
1b: Soil Erosion, Sediment Transport & Material Fluxes
1c:River Morphology & Morphodynamics
Topic 2: Risk Analysis and Management
2a: Risk Analysis: Early Warning System
2b: Managing Risks to Climate Change in River Basin
Topic 3: Riverine Biodiversity & Ecological Security
3a: Biodiversity Conservation and Protection
3b: Ecological Service, Function and Security
Topic 4: Qinling Mountains,Three Gorges Reservoir/Dam and Loess Plateau
