主要研究方向为大气中有机污染物的监测和污染来源研究。近年来从事的科研工作主要包括:国家科技部863计划重大项目“大气复合污染关键气态污染物的快速在线监测技术”;国家科技部973项目“典型地区大气酸化机理研究”、“区域大气复合污染的立体观测及污染过程”;环保部公益项目“重点城市大气挥发性有机物监测与评估技术研究”;北京市科委项目“北京市及其周边大气臭氧控制和前体物减排策略研究及示范”;国家自然科学基金“大气挥发性含氧有机物的来源及区域分布研究”;横向协作“北京经济技术开发区重点环境问题研究”,“宁波市重点地区挥发性有机物的源清单和来源解析”等。
