木本植物的次生木质部(木材)是维管形成层的活动产物,其形成过程是植物细胞分化的一种复杂类型,包括维管形成层发生、形成层细胞分裂、分化、细胞扩展、次生壁形成和细胞程序化死亡等阶段。这个过程由多种外界因素(如光周期、温度等)、内部因素(如植物激素等)和它们之间的相互作用来控制。本实验室主要以杨树为实验材料,采用剥皮再生创伤系统和整体系统,研究维管形成层活动周期调控及形成层发生、次生木质部细胞分化、次生壁形成和细胞程序死亡的分子机理,为定向改良木材材质提供理论指导。目前研究方向主要有以下两个方面: 1.维管形成层发生及次生木质部细胞分化过程中的次生壁形成和细胞程序死亡的分子机理。 2.维管形成层活动周期调控机理。
