CIN Plus is a section in CIN: Computers, Informatics, Nursing, inaugurated as a triannual publication in 1998. CIN Plus is intended to feature practical, informal, experience-based articles that incorporate reports of lessons learned and helpful, “how-to” information for use in the everyday world. These are not research articles or academic papers, but represent hard won experiences that are shared to help others on the front lines of informatics.
These articles are formatted in a less formal way, with no abstract or keywords. The article begins with a series of three bullet points that should summarize the key concepts in the manuscript. CIN Plus articles may not require references. Although there is no page limit, they are typically shorter than articles in the more formal part of the journal and, because they are published online only, may incorporate color images.
CIN is also seeking reviewers who are specifically interested in reading and critiquing these practical, informal CIN Plus submissions. If you have published in CIN Plus and would like to help other authors transmit their information to colleagues, or if you are a regular CIN reviewer and are interested in evaluating other types of manuscripts, we encourage you to e-mail the editorial office at edit@medesk.com and let us know.
As always, we sincerely appreciate and value the contributions of our authors and reviewers, and we thank everyone who has written or reviewed for CIN and CIN Plus. We look forward to working with you in the future.
