Transactions of the Royal Society of South Australia
Impact Factor (2008): 0.525
The Royal Society of South Australia is a Learned Society whose interest is in Science, particularly, but not only, of South Australia. The current interests of members are chiefly in the fields of botany, zoology, biochemistry, geology, geomorphology, palaeontology, geophysics, anthropology, biophysics, soil science and environmental science.
In 2004, the South Australian Museum and the Royal Society of South Australia became partners in Southern Scientific Press. This led to the amalgamation of their two professional journals. The Transactions of the Royal Society of South Australia now incorporates the Records of the South Australian Museum.
The Editor, Dr Oliver Mayo, welcomes submission of papers in these fields and in other areas of fundamental science such as meteorology, genetics and epidemiology which have not often been covered in the transactions.
Papers commenting on previously published work are welcome providing they contain new data. The Transactions also publishes a small number of scientific papers with a largely historical focus because they have a particular interest to South Australia.
The Transactions are now produced electronically and in paper copy. The titles and abstracts of current and recent papers can be accessed at Ingenta Connect.
Financial members receive the Transactions as part of their subscriptions. However, financial members and subscribers need a password to access the full articles. Please contact the Society to arrange access.
