SI Interpretation Equipment

Infrared Emitters

The Philips Infrared Radiators are applied to the DCN interpretation system, where four models of infrared emitters available at present, of which two are 5W models, one with wide angle diffusion and the other with a narrow diffusion pattern.

High efficiency emitters are provided in 12.5W and 25W models, which cover 15, 000 square feet depending on ambient light and room variables. All emitters are featured of auto power on with signal and loop circuits through connectors for daisy chaining and hi-lo power switches.

Infrared emitters are used for disbursing the interpretation signal throughout the conference venue. As infrared signals use light instead of the radio frequencies, no signal leaks through walls and the multiple systems can be used in adjacent halls. Usually, emitters are settled on stands at corners of the room, suspended in the ceiling grid or lighting truss in large halls. High fidelity and multi-channel audio can easily be routed to overflow rooms by simply installing a single cable from the transmitter to additional emitters. The convection cooled design of the high power emitters assures that no fan noise occurs
