Beijing and Shanghai Chinese Translation Service in The field of Laser failures

6-3.6.17   Laser failures

A.  Failure of Single Laser Assembly

Perform the following procedures to isolate the failure of the Laser Assembly (see drawing D-2450-9910.

WARNING
Do not look directly into the laser beam.  Serious eye damage can result.   Lasers are Class IIIA.

Beijing   Mandarin Chinese Translation Service Company has translated many technical documents in the field of Laser failures.

A.  Failure of Both Laser Assemblies.

1.  Disconnect connector P32.

2.  Connect a digital voltmeter to connector J32, pins B & C.

3.  Activate the Laser switch, checking for the presence of 5 VDC.

4.  If voltage is present on J32 proceed to step 5.  If voltage is not present at J32, proceed to step 8.

5.  Check for 5 VDC at M65.

6.  If voltage is not present at M65, replace the Cable Assembly.

7.  If voltage is present at M65, replace Laser assembly.

8.  If voltage is not present at J32, open the Top Cover and remove PiP Module.  See figure 6-5 for location of Bar LED LB6 (laser) on the Vehicle Interface Board.  Activate laser switch and confirm illumination.

9.  If correct Bar LED is illuminating when operating switch, proceed to step 11.

10.  If Bar LED does not illuminate when operating the switch (and there is only a single function failure) the problem is in the controller, contact REMOTEC Service Department at (865)-483-1492.

11.  Refer to figure 6-6 for the location of the LED (laser) on the Main Relay Board.  Activate switch and check LED on the Main Relay Board labeled “LASER.”  LED should illuminate.

12.  If correct LED is illuminating on the Main Relay Board and NO voltage is present at pins B & C on connector J32, the problem exists in the wiring between the Main Relay Board and connector J32 (e.g., female pins spread apart).  The integrity of the wiring must be checked.  Connections are located inside the arm between the Wrist Pitch and the Elbow below the Elbow and lower Arm Tube, and below the Shoulder and Vehicle Housing.  Specific pin outs for each connector are found on drawings B-2450-9340 and D-2450-9910.

13.  If the correct LED on the Main Relay Board is NOT illuminating when activating the switch and the correct Bar LED is illuminating on the Vehicle Interface Board, replace the Main Relay Board.  Refer to Section 6-4 for disassembly procedures.

14.  If the problem still exists, contact REMOTEC Service Department at (865)-483-1492.
