B.  After checking all mechanical failure possibilities, proceed to the following steps.
 
1.  Remove the Main Cover assembly from the Fiber Optic Vehicle Reel assembly.
 
2.  Remove the cover on the Fiber Optic Control Assembly
 
3.  Activate the Cable Reel switch on the switchbox and verify that LED labeled “MOTOR” located in the upper portion of the Fiber Optic Control assembly illuminates RED.
 
(a)  If the “MOTOR” LED illuminates RED:
 
(b)  Disconnect the take-up motor assembly wiring at W12.
 
(c)  Connect a digital voltmeter to the “power side” of connector W12.
 
(d)  Activate the “TAKE-UP” switch and check for presence of voltage at the connector.
 
(e)  If voltage IS present and the motor is not moving, replace the Motor assembly.
 
(f)  If voltage is NOT present at W12 and the “MOTOR” light illuminates, verify the integrity of the wiring between the motor and the Fiber Optic Control assembly.
 
4.  If the “MOTOR” LED does NOT illuminate:
 
(a) Open the Top Cover.  See Section 6-4 for disassembly procedures.
 
(b) Refer to figure 6-6 for the location of the LED (P/T zoom lens) on the Main Relay Board.  Activate switch and check “LENS PWR” LED on the Main Relay Board.  If it illuminates, go to step 5.
 
(c) If the “LENS PWR” LED does not illuminate when activating the switch the problem is in the controller, contact the REMOTEC Service Department at (865)-483-1492.
 
5.  If the “LENS PWR” LED on the Main Relay Board illuminates and the “MOTOR” LED does NOT illuminate:
 
(a)  Check for illumination of the “+24V” LED in the upper right portion of the Fiber Optic Control Assembly.  If the LED is NOT illuminated, check the integrity of the wiring between the Fiber Optic Control Assembly and Circuit Breaker B1 (which is located inside the Chassis Control Housing).  See drawings B-2450-9340 and D-2450-9910.  If problem still exists, contact REMOTEC Service Department at (865)-483-1492.
 
(b)  If the “+24V” LED is illuminated, replace the Fiber Optic Control Assembly.  If the problem still exists, contact REMOTEC Service Department at (865)-483-1492.
