(3) Geology
Tectonically, the mine situates in the north of central Zhongtiao uplift in Shanxi anticline.
1. Strata
Outcropped strata in this area are Henglingguan Formation of Jiangxian Group in Proterozoic, striking northeast, dipping northwest or southwest. Dominating lithologies are cordierite mica quartz schist, staurolite mica schist, garnet mica quartz schist, phyllite, and mica quartz schist, in which the phyllite is the main mineral carrier.

2. Structure
The mining area is a northeast-dipping anticlinorium, with the core striking northeast. The axis is basically vertical and has a trend dipping southeast; the northwest wing is appreciably steep. The strata at core are cordierite mica quartz schist, while both wings are composed of staurolite garnet mica schist and phyllite. Fault is not well developed in the area, only a squeezing breaking zone, with width of 4-5meters and parallel to the core of the anticline, presents at the northwest area. This structure has a steep dip angle and small fault displacement. Exposed in the tunnel is its breaking material.

3. Magmatite
Outcropped magmatic rocks are mainly amphibolites, biotite schist and a few pegmatite veins, which present as veins, rock walls and stocks. Amphibolites veins have copper mineralization, and the biotite schist is closely related to the ore body.
