会议背景介绍: We cordially invite you to submit theoretical and empirical papers in all areas of environmental and natural resource economics to the Fifth Congress of the East Asian Association of Environmental and Resource Economics (EAAERE), which will be held in Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan, between August 5th and 7th in 2015. After the previous four Congresses held in Hokkaido (2010), Bandung (2012), Huangsan (2013) and Busan (2014), colleagues around the world are welcome to attend the Fifth Congress in Taipei and to visit this beautiful city in the summer of 2015. The Institute of Economics in Academia Sinica, the Department of Economics at National Taipei University, and the Taiwan Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (TAERE) will be your local hosts.
The Main Theme The main theme of the Fifth Congress of the EAAERE is “Green Economy and Sustainable Development.” Although the idea of sustainable development has been implemented in many areas since 1985, the progress has not been satisfactory. We may need to formulate another plan of action to guide future progress. At the Conference on Sustainable Development held by the United Nations in Rio, 2012, the attendants agreed that implementing a green economy was the pathway to sustainable development and poverty eradication. However, many unanswered questions still must be tackled before we can successfully transit from the current brown economy to a green one. These questions include: what economic instruments could internalize intergenerational externalities, what policies could avoid and/or improve intergenerational inequalities, what macroeconomic policies could promote a green economy, what types of policy instruments could be used to green industries, what stimulus programs could induce higher levels of innovation needed for a green economy, what international trade policies could spur the development of a green economy, etc. Members and colleagues will have an excellent opportunity to discuss various issues related to sustainable development, green growth and green economy at this Congress. |
