会议背景介绍: The IEEE Photonics Conference -- IPC (formerly the IEEE LEOS Annual Meeting) -- is the premier international conference in photonics organized by the IEEE and is the flagship program and annual summit of the IEEE Photonics Society.
Taking place close to Washington DC, in Reston, Virginia, from the 4th – 8th of October this year, IPC provides our community with a major international forum spanning all aspects of photonics research. On behalf of the Program Committee, including myself together with the Conference General Chair Martin Dawson (University of Strathclyde, Scotland, UK) and the Member-at-Large Thomas R. Clark (JHU Applied Physics Laboratory, MD, USA), we welcome all members of our global photonics community to this important annual event!
This year marks the International Year of Light – IYL and the IEEE Photonics Society is a founding partner of the IYL 2015. Our Photonics Conference provides a key opportunity to highlight the value and impact of photonics during the IYL. It is our great pleasure to contribute to IYL with a fantastic technical program at IPC.
2015 is also historically important for the IEEE Photonics Society since it commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the creation of the Quantum Electronics Council, which eventually became the IEEE Photonics Society.
In addition, this year we are celebrating the 2014 Nobel Prizes in Physics and Chemistry from the field of photonics and the 25th Anniversary of the Selected Topics in Quantum Electronics in 2015.
Our technical program will reflect these important celebrations and recognitions.
