In this fast ‘automating’ world, the Sensors and Actuators field has assumed a crucial role. Most human activity in the modern societies depends critically upon these devices and systems. Realizing this, we, the organizers, have been holding yearly workshops and symposiums on this topic for about 20 years in India. The series of yearly symposiums viz. National Seminar on Physics and Technology of Sensors (NSPTS), held at various places across India, is a regular feature ever since it was conceptualized and organized first in 1994 by Department of Electronic Science, University of Pune.

Objectives
To increase interactions between industry, R & D Institutes and universities
To provide platform for exchange of knowledge in all the specific areas of the field of interest
To update the knowledge in the subject through workshops on specialized topics.
To provide first hand information about frontiers of research and development through invited talks
To expose the participants and attendees to the current industrial status in the field through industrial exhibitions
To expose the industries and participants to the developments done by researchers and students through prototype presentations |
