During my degree I spent considerable periods of time in France and Italy, on university courses and taking part in a voluntary community project. This gave me the opportunity to improve my language skills and learn more about the respective cultures. I have since undertaken adistance learning course to work towards the Institute of Linguists Diploma in Translation; I passed units 2 and 3 in January 2012, unit 1 is to be taken in January 2013.
